I'm Nelson Marques, RD, CSSD — a registered dietitian and board certified specialist in sports dietetics, with a master's degree and ten years in performance nutrition. I've spent most of that career on the other side of the label: watching clients, athletes, and operators fall victim to supplements built on marketing hype instead of clinical evidence.

I've contracted with the UFC Performance Institute, supporting fight week weight cuts for professional fighters. Bad cuts cost athletes their paychecks, their rankings, and — I've seen this firsthand — their kidneys. In extreme cases, their lives. I currently support a pararescue unit in an active nutrition advisory role, and have worked with Green Berets and other special operators throughout my career.

What I kept seeing was the same problem on every shelf I walked past: proprietary blends hiding ingredients that could compromise performance — or worse, get a tested athlete suspended. Label gymnastics. “30 servings” that were actually 15 if you wanted the evidence-based dosage. Products formulated to hit a price point, not a clinical effect.

So I'm building the line I wish existed. Every Scythene product is formulated at clinical doses. Every label shows the exact amount of every ingredient — no blends, no hiding. Every batch is tested by an independent third-party lab for purity and potency.

This isn't a company chasing trends. It's the line I'd put in the hands of the combat athletes and operators I work with — and the line I'm building for anyone else who's tired of paying premium prices for marketing hype.
